Is this the right request for you?
You have a single on the way and want structure around audio, artwork, delivery material and what actually has to happen before release.
Not automatically included
Playlist placements, radio, streams and sales cannot be guaranteed. Distribution, marketing and rights work must be stated explicitly in the job.
Plan backwards from delivery and approval
Write down which steps are done and which remain: recording, mix, mastering, artwork and metadata. Give the date each delivery needs to be approved. Keep the studio delivery date separate from your distributor’s processing time and from the day you want the music to go public.
Appoint the person who approves the final master and artwork. When several people work on the project, changes need to be collected and approved version numbers kept clear. Otherwise an older mix or the wrong image can end up in the upload even though the new version is ready.
Collect credits and responsibilities in one document
Check artist name, song title, version, contributors and rights holder details. State who is responsible for the distributor account, codes and registrations. This information needs to stay consistent throughout the delivery.
Describe beat, sample and image material that comes from other people. A release plan or a mixing order does not automatically settle their usage rights. Raise uncertain parts before you book work that depends on that material.
Prepare a pitch without promising placements
Pitch material should describe the song’s character, context and planned activities without invented achievements. Spotify’s official pitch tool applies to upcoming, unreleased music. Check the current eligibility and process in Spotify for Artists.
Spotify states that a pitch does not guarantee editorial placement. Plan activities you can carry out yourself as well: content for your own channels, working links and follow-up after release. If SWX Records is to help with any of these, responsibilities and deliveries need to be in the quote.
Checklist for your request
- Song title, artist name and status of the final mix and master.
- Artwork, credits and rights holder details.
- Distributor and the person responsible for the upload.
- Planned release date and the dates for approved deliveries.
- The release support you are looking for and what you handle yourself.
Price, scope, schedule, revision rounds and usage rights are confirmed for each job. Sending a request does not place an order. Our contact form is in Swedish, but you are welcome to write in English.
Describe your project and ask about a planQuestions about release planning
Does release support mean I get signed?
No. A service and a record label collaboration are different agreements. Any record deal has to be discussed and approved separately.
Can you guarantee the song lands on a playlist?
No. Editorial and other external decisions are outside our control. You can order agreed material or support, not a guaranteed placement.
Do I need to order mixing and artwork as well?
Not if you already have approved deliveries. Describe what is finished and which parts you need help with, so the same work is not ordered twice.
